Are there first aid points on the course?
Yes, there is a medical treatment centre at the start / finish on Hove Lawns plus additional mobile medical resource covering the course.
Are there mile markers?

Yes, there are mile markers at each mile point.
Are there pace makers?
There will not be pace makers at the race.
Are there starting pens and if so, how do they work?
Yes, at the start you’ll need to enter a pen that correlates with the estimated finishing time that you gave us when you registered. This ensures that you’ll run alongside others of comparable ability.
Are there toilets available on the course?

There will be toilets available on the course, further information to follow shortly.
Can I amend details on my registration?

Yes, you can amend your details with the exception of your name. At the point of registration you should have received an email from info@attendly.com with a link to access and amend your personal user profile (+ a temporary password when you registered via attendly for the very first time). Can I enter a group of friends or colleagues?

Yes, you can enter a group of up to 5 runners on each registration.

Can I get a refund, defer or transfer my registration?

Unfortunately we do not offer refunds, deferrals or transfers. The full terms & conditions that were embedded into the runner registration form can be found here.

Can I run in fancy dress?

Yes but if your costume is really extreme then please liaise with the organisers.
Can I run wearing headphones?

We refer to UK Athletics ruling below:


The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic. This restriction does not apply to races held on dual carriageways provided that there are clear, structured separations between the separate carriageways. Competition Providers of races held entirely on roads closed to traffic may apply this condition where appropriate to local circumstances.

As the Bright10 is run on some single carriageway roads, we do not permit the use of headphones.

Can I use a wheelchair, pushchair, buggy or similar?

Unfortunately our course is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or buggies. The course has many twists and turns, a couple of descents and there will be times when the route is quite congested.

Do all runners get a medal?

All finishers of the Bright10 will receive a fabulous medal.

How old do I need to be to run?

Runners need to be at least 17 years old on the day of the event.

How will I know if my entry was processed?

If arriving by bus, which route should I take and where is it best to disembark?

If arriving by train, which is the best train station to arrive at?

Both Brighton station and Hove station are almost equidistant, at just over 1 mile from the race village.

If travelling by car, where are the nearest car parks?

There are many multi-storey car parks in Brighton & Hove.

Is there a time limit to complete the course?
Yes, the traffic management team will make preparations to open the roads based on a 2.5 hour running time. If you fall behind this schedule, you’ll still be able to complete the event but will be advised to run on the pavements.
What contents will I receive within my race pack?

Your race pack will include your running number and a race day guide with information to ensure you are ready for the event. Your running number will have your personal ‘electronic running chip’ fixed on the reverse of the number. This is activated as you cross the start & finish line and will give you your own personal ‘chip time’ to complete the course. Also included is a baggage tag. If you wish to drop your bag off in the secure baggage area whilst you run then please attach your baggage tag to your bag and present your bag at the secure baggage area before the start.

What if I lose my race pack?

If you lose your race number please come to the help desk on the race day to have a replacement issued. The help desk is open from 0730hrs until the race starts. To have a replacement issued you must bring proof of entry, this can be a confirmation email or bank statement and photo identification. Please note there will be a limited number of replacement packs and these will be issued on a first come first served basis.

What time do the road closures come into affect?

The road closures will be staggered across the course but around the race village and the start / finish line, the road closures will commence at 0800hrs

What time should I arrive?
It’s best to arrive no later than 0800hrs to ensure you’re able to drop your baggage, visit the loos & relax.
When do entries close?

To receive your race pack in the post, online entries close on Sunday 8th October.

Online entries remain open until Wednesday 11th October but for entries between Monday 9th and Wednesday 11th – race packs will need to be collected from the help desk on the day.

A limited number of on the day entries will be available from the help desk from 07:30am at £30 (cash only)

When will I receive my race pack?

Your race pack, including your race number, timing chip, baggage label and race guide, will be sent in the post approx. 2 weeks before the event.
When will the results be available?
The results will be published on the event website shortly after the event has finished. If you entered your mobile number at point of registration you’ll also receive an SMS text message as soon as you finish.
